SharedInk - Where online photo albums become keepsake books
About SharedInk
About Us

SharedInk, LLC develops and hosts Internet software that provides customers web sites (“WebBooks”) where they may collaborate in the creation and sharing of personally valuable content.

Founded in July 2001 by Chris Hickman, a seasoned technologist and entrepreneur, SharedInk uses a proprietary technology platform that is able to automatically re-purpose online web pages into offline print-ready formats, allowing us to provide best-in-class products and services that are competitively priced. SharedInk is located in Duvall, WA.

Our History

Chris was inspired to found SharedInk after the birth of his first son, Nicholas. Nicholas was the first grandchild on both sides of the family. Unfortunately, both sets of grandparents lived far away. After many e-mails back and forth to share with everyone the latest photos, news and stories, it was obvious that a custom web site to share this information would be a much better choice.

But, being the first child, a nice permanent keepsake book was desired as well. This led to the creation of SharedInk and the ability to instantly transform web pages into print-ready books.

Today, Nicholas has a 70+ page custom hardcover baby keepsake book, with stories and photos contributed from many family and friends. Creating this rich, comprehensive keepsake just is not possible without SharedInk.

The SharedInk Advantage

SharedInk is the only company that marries the custom printed book market with the online family and photo sharing market into a single cohesive product. Customers can finally collaborate together with family and friends to create a meaningful online web site focused on a specific subject matter. The user can then publish their WebBook content as an offline book whenever they wish, imparting permanence to the content created. No other service offers this capability.

There are services available that allow people to create their own high-quality custom printed photo albums. However, these services only allow a single person to create the album, and they have limited textual capabilities. The result is a nice looking hardcover book, but unfortunately the content ends up being a mish-mash of photos along with some captions.

Other services are available that allow people to create and share content with family and friends. But the content must always exist in the online world. If you stop using the web service, you no longer have access to your precious content.

The choice is clear. With SharedInk, you simply can build a better book.
